BACKGROUND:
The Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals Project (DRPP) locates in Dangote Industries, Lekki Free Trade Zone, Nigeria. The project requests primed FBE coating for the carbon steel piping system formed with line pipes, spools, insert sleeves, etc.
Altogether 77 pieces of fabricated spools in different sizes and shapes were applied with internal FBE coating (phenolic primer + FBE topcoat). Both the phenolic primer and FBE powder used were self-brands of Tyhoo Co., Ltd. Part of the spools were applied with inorganic zinc rich paint on external surface for temporary protection. Permanent external coating will be applied just before pipeline construction.
Tyhoo designed various apparatus and tooling in very short term to cope with the spools in different structures, and fully demonstrated its proficiency, stability and reliability in coating process, with blast cleanliness, uniformity of coating, DFT and coating performance fully sufficed the technical requirements of the project.
