QUALITY CONTROL ENGINEER 

■ Spence Growth Options Project (SGO) in north Chile

The SGO Project includes the construction of a 155km pipeline system of 36” diameter for transportation of fresh water from the desalination plant in Mejillones, Antofagasta, to the “Spence” copper mine owned by Minera Spence, a wholly owned subsidiary of BHP, a major mineral resource company based in Australia.

Responsibilities: Quality inspection for internal field weld joint coating using robotic crawlers; Daily coating inspections and tests; Coordinating with the Contractor (SAIPEM) and third party inspector; Documentation and reporting.

■ Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical Project (DRPP)

The DRPP Project locates in Dangote Industries, Lekki Free Trade Zone, Nigeria. Tyhoo contracted primed FBE coating for the carbon steel piping system formed with line pipes, spools, insert sleeves, etc. Pipe coating was made in Tyhoo’s custom coating and internal coating plants located in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, China. Piping materials coated include 5.8km of line pipes, 656 pieces of insert sleeves and 77 pieces of fabricated spools.

Responsibilities: Organizing the quality control activities; Coordinating with the Contractor and third party inspector; Documentation and reporting.

■ INTERCONNECTION 36” TRUNK 42” FOR ONGC Project (ONGC)

The project locates in India and requests for external flame spray polyethylene coating (FSPE) for a batch of Ø 610mm elbows.

Responsibilities: Organizing the coating inspection and testing activities; Coordinating with the Contractor and third party inspector; Documentation and reporting.

COATING INSPECTOR 

■ PETRONAS Refinery and Petrochemicals Integrated Development Project (RAPID) in Johor, Malaysia

The RAPID Project is a large-scale petro-chemical complex in Malaysia formed with petro-chemical plants, tank farms and various ancillary facilities.

Responsibilities: Supervising the coating activities in subcontractor’s permanent and temporary pipe coating facilities; On-site inspections for fire-proof coating of spherical tanks and steel structures and thermal insulation of chemical tanks and piping systems; Originating relevant technical documents; Coordinating with the Owner (PETRONAS) for quality issues.

■ Hangzhou Bay Offshore Pipeline Project, Huizhou Offshore Pipeline Project, Guangdong LNG Project, CNOOC Huizhou Oil Refinery Project, the 2nd Shaanxi – Beijing Gas Pipeline Project, Wuhan Natural Gas Pipeline Project, Ningbo-Shanghai-Nanjing Oil Pipeline Project, Sichuan – East China Gas Pipeline Project, Wuhan Coal Gas Pipeline Project, Iraq Southern Oilfield Pipeline Project, Iraq Rumaila Oil Field Pipeline Project, Zhuhai Amoco Chemical Transportation Pipeline Project, the West – East Gas Pipeline Project, etc.

PROJECT ENGINEER & CONTRACT CONTROLLER 

■ Guangdong LNG Project & Huizhou Extension Pipeline

The Guangdong LNG Pipeline is for transportation of imported liquefied natural gas to the final users in Shenzhen, Huizhou and other cities in Guangdong Province. The Owner, Guangdong Dapeng LNG Company Limited, is a joint venture between CNOOC and BP. Jobs contracted by the CJV between CPPCE and Socotherm include external 3LPE coating and internal flow coating of over 433.6km of line pipes with sizes range from 323.9mm to 914mm.

Responsibilities: Planning for production schedule, materials and labor force; External coordination with the customer and third party inspectors; Job progress verification; Progressive payment calculation and collection; Internal coordination between departments; Documentation and reporting.

PROJECT ENGINEER 

■ Hangzhou Bay Offshore Pipeline Project, Huizhou Offshore Pipeline Project

The Hangzhou Bay Offshore Pipeline is owned by Sinopec and with Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) as the EPC contractor. The job contracted by Ningbo Daxie Socotherm includes external FBE coating, concrete weight coating and sacrificial anode installation for 390 km of pipes with sizes range from 323.9 mm to 914mm.

The Huizhou Offshore Pipeline Project contracted by Socotherm includes external FBE coating, pipe-in-pipe thermal insulation and sacrificial anode installation for 41.4km of line pipes.
